Cell Biology and Genetics

    Cell biology focuses on the cell, the building block of life.  Biologists in this field study the inner workings of the cell and how they work together as a unit.

    Genetics takes a closer look at DNA and how the information on our DNA makes us who we are.

    Includes lesson plans and in-class activities that help deepen student understanding as well as videos and other things that can supplement lessons.

Tour of the Cell Webquest
   In this webquest the student will take a tour through the different types of cells and their respective organelles' functions.  This is a great resource that can be used in a lesson to help students recognize the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, as well as, plant and animal cells.

Slide Screw Up Webquest
   This is another webquest that has students learn about the different types of cells using a problem solving method.  This webquest could also be used alongside of a lesson on the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, as well as, plant and animal cells.
